Ask anyone how the Tower of Babel ends. Fire. A storm. A tower crashing down.
None of that is in Genesis 11. The text's own ending is quieter, and stranger, than the legend.
What the Text Says
The chapter opens with everyone speaking the same way:
"And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech."GENESIS 11:1 · KJV
The LORD comes down to look at what's been built:
"And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded."GENESIS 11:5 · KJV
The response is a decision about language, not a weapon:
"Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech."GENESIS 11:7 · KJV
Here is the entire ending, in the text's own words:
"So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth."GENESIS 11:8–9 · KJV

Read all nine verses and one thing never shows up: a destruction word. No fire, no storm, nothing crumbling.
The text's own verb is "left off" - they stopped building. That is the entire physical fate of the tower, stated once, and never revisited.
