Genesis counts a family of seventy going down into Egypt. A few verses later, Exodus opens on a whole enslaved nation - and the text itself names exactly how many years sit between the two scenes.

What the Text Says
Joseph is already "a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt" (Genesis 45:8) when the famine brings his family in. Genesis counts the household that follows him: "threescore and ten" - seventy people, by name.
Generations pass. Exodus opens on the same family, now "fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied" - a nation, ruled by "a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph."
The text does not leave the span between those two scenes unmarked. It counts it, in the same book:
